My Friends is a very nostalgic series, so far consinsting of 30 portraits. As our world is becoming more and more complex and confusing, I started to remember celebrities who impressed or influenced me in my childhood and made them my friends. Mostly musicians and actors like Charlie Chaplin, Pam Grier or Romy Schneider, but also Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, as well as Muhammad Ali who was not just a world champion boxer, but became an icon for the larger counterculture generation. All works oilpaint and enamel on paper, 42 x 30cm.
